About this place
Afternoon tea at The Library is a leisurely choice when you want a mix of sweet treats and savoury bites. One visitor enjoyed a set featuring strawberry daifuku, scones, shortcake and Swiss roll, alongside Spanish omelette and pâté. Another tried seasonal melon sweets and a night tea set with 8 savoury items, 4 sweets and 2 drinks.
For tea lovers, choosing from the extensive Ronnefeldt selection is part of the pleasure. The menu includes Tippy Golden Earl Grey, scented with bergamot, and Irish Malt, a blend with notes of cacao and Irish whiskey. One diner praised the generous pot of tea, while a cake set makes a pleasant option for a shorter break.
The Library is on the 1 floor of Hotel Monterey Kyoto, just south of Sanjo on Karasuma Street. Lunch options include curry, sandwiches and waffles. The keema curry comes with a small soup and small salad; the green shrimp and spicy chicken curries are served with fruit and a small salad, making them more substantial meal choices.
